Fridge Poetry 12 - R.E.M.

Tonight I had a thousand dreams.

Every joy,

every envy,

endured the strange charm of an

obscure hellion and another

more heavenly light.

I almost let go in a world between

spirit

and

form,

somewhere near never and forever.

Though, nakedly opaque I almost forgot

that, through it all, to live is to hold on

to earthly pleasure and discontent.
