Fridge Poetry 37 - A tired god

Lover of every emotion

but also a hard-handed deceiver.

Every day full of fire and equal ennui,

veiled in some vapid, easy result,

and set to tell him clever, cunning slander,

and give only obtuse, opaque opinion,

profligate manners,

plastic, phony pedagogue.

I’m afraid his naked and finite gentleness

is overcome with aches,

within the forever night,

the arid delights,

the honeyed goodbyes.
