Fridge Poetry 29 - Workingman’s hymn

A common day can overwhelm you,

extract all you have

before you even know it,

while lapsed kisses ring full with warm slander,

and each almost embrace is just a hair away

from ever feeling.

The jester has

your number.

If you know, you can fight temptation,

so fight,

endure.

You can and you must.

Some morning fully flowered fruit

will find you.
